Sponsorships
Many Cambodian children wish to go to school regularly and for a long time. But often their parents can not afford to send them to school. Besides the lack of financial capacities, the children often have to contribute to the income of the families: be it by working on rice fields, in textile factories, as domestic aid or as construction worker.
The children get into a vicious circle they can not leave without external financial aid.
Project contents and aims
With a sponsorship the children and their families are financially supported but more importantly the sponsorships give hope and the chance for a better future. School-Sponsorships are mediated by our partner NGO COMPED (Cambodian Education and Waste Management Organization) in Phnom Penh. With a contribution of 200 Euro per year you allow a child to go to school, buy school material and school uniforms as well as a bycicle. More than 50 Cambodian children are currently receiving support by their German godparents.
After completition of their schooling we help the godchildren to either receive professional training or go to university.
